Research progress of bismuth-based semiconductor photocatalyst

  • Photocatalytic technology is an effective technical to solve environmental problems and energy crisis due to its high efficiency. Exploring efficient photocatalyst is one core of application and development of photocatalytic technology. Bi-based semiconductor photocatalysts are concerned widely because of its outstanding performance under visible light. Several common Bi-based semiconductor photocatalysts are listed. Then the significant results of light energy utilization via doping modification are reviewed and the photocatalytic performance of photocatalysts contained Bi5+ is introduced briefly. The related problems of the basic theory and practical application are put forward.
