Ground penetrating radar imaging based on envelope of ellipses

  • Existing ultra-wideband ground penetrating radar (GPR) imaging algorithms suffer from blur imaging and high computational complexity and thus not suitable for real-time processing. Envelope algorithm is extended to GPR imaging, in which the major axis of ellipse is approximately calculated for coping with multi-media underground. FDTD experimental data shows that the proposed algorithm is of much lower computational complexity and can describe target with more accurate boundary structure.
