Microwave photonic links based on dual-parallel phase modulators

摘要: 针对相位调制微波光子链路输出信号无法被光电探测器直接探测的问题,采用双平行相位调制器搭建微波光子链路,从而实现相位调制的直接探测。双平行相位调制器微波光子链路采用2个相位调制器,通过调节调制器的相位偏移差为π,使2路相位调制信号在接收端拍频时不会相互抵消,实现微波信号相位调制直接探测。采用光仿真软件Optisystem进行链路模拟仿真设计和性能分析,仿真结果表明:优化后的链路可有效传输相位调制信号,并具有结构简单和噪声小等优势。Abstract: As the output signal of the phase modulator can not be directly detected by PD, the dual-parallel phase modulators have been used to build microwave photonic links that can achieve direct detection. The dual-parallel phase modulators microwave photonic links use two phase modulators. By setting the phase deviation difference between two PM as π, two phase modulated signals do not cancel each other at the receiving. Then the phase modulated signals can transmit in direct detection. This paper analyzes the theory of the links and simulates the model of the links. The results of the simulation show this link can effectively transmit phase modulated signal to the receiver and has some features such as simple structure, low noise, etc.
