In order to solve the problem of organic pollution on the environment, (Sr

2Bi
2O
7/ZnO composite photocatalyst was synthesized by one-step hydrothermal method. The prepared samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS and UV-Vis DRS. The photocatalytic activity of the sample was evaluated by degrading methylene blue (MB).The measured results show that 20 wt% (Sr
0.6Bi
0.305)
2Bi
2O
7/ZnO has the best photocatalytic activity. After 150 min, the methylene blue solution is degraded by 92% and has good cycle stability. Meanwhile, the possible mechanism for enhancing the photocatalytic activity of (Sr
0.6Bi
0.305)
2Bi
2O
7/ZnO composite material was discussed.
