一种新的数字锁相环系统综合建模方法

A new synthetic modeling method for digital PLL system

  • 摘要: 针对Bang-Bang数字锁相环需要自适应调整滤波系数以满足锁定后输出抖动最小化的需求,提出一种新的数字锁相环输出抖动计算方法。该方法将系统的DCO噪声与极限环噪声线性叠加,并根据环路响应速度迭代优化锁相环系统滤波器的滤波系数,进一步完善了Bang-Bang数字锁相环输出抖动最优条件,为高性能数字锁相环设计提供理论支持。根据本文提出的建模方法设计了一种Bang-Bang数字锁相环,输出时钟峰峰值抖动为5.56 ps@6 GHz, 均方根抖动为1.33 ps@1 KHz~1 MHz, 与建模计算误差小于20%。经过对比验证,该系统综合建模方法具有较高的准确性,可应用于相似架构的数字锁相环设计。

     

    Abstract: To minimize the output jitter of the Bang-Bang digital phase-locked loop after lock-in, a new analytical modelling method for output jitter calculation is proposed. In this method, the digital-controlled oscillator (DCO) noise and limit-cycle noise are linearly superimposed. The filter coefficient of the phase-locked loop (PLL) is iteratively optimized based on the loop response speed, thereby improving the conditions for minimising output jitter. The proposed method provides theoretical support for the design of a high-performance digital phase-locked loop. According to the modelling method proposed in this paper, a Bang-Bang digital phase-locked loop is designed. The peak-to-peak jitter of the output clock is 5.56 ps@6 GHz, while the root mean square jitter is 1.33 ps@1 KHz~1 MHz, and the modelling error is less than 20%. Comparative results demonstrate that the system’s comprehensive modelling method has high accuracy and can be applied to the design of digital phase-locked loops with similar architectures.
