COD/SO42−值对ABR处理硫酸盐有机废水颗粒污泥胞外聚合物特性的影响

Effect of COD/SO42− ratios on the extracellular polymer properties of granular sludge from ABR treatment of sulfate organic wastewater

  • 摘要: 为了考察COD/SO42−值对厌氧折流板反应器(ABR)处理硫酸盐有机废水颗粒污泥胞外聚合物(EPS)特性的影响,在成功启动ABR的基础上,通过分阶段降低COD/SO42−值,研究了各阶段运行稳定后COD和SO42−的去除效果、EPS含量变化以及空间分布特征。结果表明:在COD/SO42−值由12.5降至4.0的过程中,COD和SO42−的总去除率为95%左右,各隔室厌氧颗粒污泥中的EPS含量呈现先升高后降低的趋势,其中第3隔室颗粒污泥EPS含量在COD/SO42−值为6.9时达到最高,第1、2、4、5隔室颗粒污泥EPS含量均在COD/SO42−值为4.0时达到最高。当COD/SO42−值降至3.0时,COD和SO42−总去除率分别降至60%和90%,各隔室颗粒污泥EPS含量明显下降,微生物的生命活动受到抑制。原位荧光染色结果表明,当COD/SO42−值为3.0时,颗粒污泥松散且荧光强度减弱,蛋白质(PN)遍布整个颗粒污泥,但主要分布在外侧,其分布受COD/SO42−值变化影响较小,而多糖(PS)分布所受影响较大,导致污泥结构稳定性下降,其中第2、3、4隔室PS转变为向颗粒污泥外侧分布,第5隔室PS由均匀分布向内部集中。

     

    Abstract: To investigate the effect of COD/SO42− ratios on the characteristics of granular sludge extracellular polymer substances (EPS) in anaerobic baffled reactor (ABR) treating sulfate organic wastewater, the COD and SO42− removal effect, EPS content variation and the spatial distribution of each compartment were investigated by reducing COD/SO42− ratios in stages after each stage of stable operation based on the successful start-up of the ABR. The results showed that during the reduction of COD/SO42− ratio from 12.5 to 4.0, the total removal rate of COD and SO42− was around 95%, and the EPS content of anaerobic granular sludge in each compartment showed a trend of first increasing and then decreasing, with the highest EPS content in compartment 3 at a COD/SO42− ratio of 6.9, and the highest EPS content in compartments 1, 2, 4 and 5 at a COD/SO42− ratio of 4.0. When the COD/SO42− ratio decreased to 3.0, the total removal rate of COD and SO42− decreased to 60% and 90%, respectively, and the EPS content of each compartment decreased significantly, and the life activity of microorganisms was inhibited. The results of in situ fluorescence staining showed that when the COD/SO42− ratio was 3.0, the granular sludge was loose and the fluorescence intensity was reduced, and the protein (PN) was distributed throughout the granular sludge, but mainly on the outer side, and its distribution was less affected by the change of COD/SO42− ratio, while the distribution of polysaccharide (PS) was more affected, resulting in the decrease of sludge structural stability, in which the PS in compartments 2,3 and 4 changed to be distributed to the outside of the granular sludge, and the PS in compartment 5 was concentrated from uniform distribution to the inside.
